Palmetto State offers a wide variety of checking accounts to meet your lifestyle and financial needs. All deposit accounts are FDIC insured and offer PSB Online internet banking at no extra charge. All of our checking accounts offer detailed monthly imaged statements. These statements are designed to provide you with imaged copies of all checks clearing during the month. The imaged checks arrive with your statement in check number order, for easier account reconciliation.

PSB checking accounts are outlined below.

Basic Checking

With unlimited check writing, you can write all the checks you want, and no monthly minimum balance to maintain. The initial deposit to open is $100.00. A monthly maintenance fee of $3 applies to the account.

Regular Checking

Also offers unlimited check writing, but requires a monthly minimum balance of $500.00. If the account falls below $500.00 any time during the monthly statement cycle, a service charge of $5.00 applies. Maintain a $10,000.00 balance in another PSB personal deposit account and no service charges apply. The initial deposit to open the account is $500.00.

Interest Checking

Offers unlimited check writing, and requires a monthly minimum balance of $500.00. Interest is paid on the average available balance with tiered interest rates based on balance. There is no service charge as long as you maintain a minimum daily balance of $500.00. If the account balance falls below $500.00 at any time during the monthly statement cycle, a service charge of $8.00 applies. Maintain a $15,000.00 balance in another PSB personal deposit account and no maintenance fees apply. The initial deposit to open the account is $500.00.

Prime Time Checking

Open to customers 55 and older. No monthly minimum balance to keep, and unlimited check writing. Interest is paid on the average available balance. Custom checks are offered to the account holder at no charge. There are no fees for money orders, prepaid check cards, or notary services. The initial deposit to open this account is $100.00.
